LOW EARTH ORBIT

Satellites in Low Earth orbits (LEO) are normally used for military reconnaissance and aeronautical purposes, which are things to do with the military and army. These orbits are used to spy on their enemies; in fact these satellites can pick out tanks from 160 km above earth. However, these orbits do not live for very long; they have a very short life time and can only last for a couple of weeks. One complete orbit normally takes 90 minutes; they also have a velocity of 26,000 to 27,000 km per hour or sometimes 17,000 km per hour. Simple launch vehicles can easily be used to place these satellites of large masses into orbit.
